Other contests may also be available live in earlier rounds depending on the participation of the involved schools in the NFHS Network School Broadcast Program.
Fans, family and alumni unable to attend the event can tune-in live from wherever they are on the NFHS Network. The NFHS Network is the most comprehensive location for coverage of boys and girls high school sports, performing arts and activities.
CIF ANNOUNCES 2014-2015 MODEL COACH AWARD WINNERS
|The State CIF Office has announced the 2014-2015 Model Coach Award winners and North Coast Section,CIF has two coaches recognized for this prestigious award, Barrie Bulmore, Head-Royce School in Oakland, and Frank Haswell, San Ramon Valley High School, both tennis coaches. North Coast Section, CIF member schools are very proud of their selection and their outstanding dedication to our student-athletes. Congratulations to both coaches! Well deserved!! TWO LONGTIME NCS COACHES HONORED FOR SERVICE
NCS has many outstanding and dedicated coaches. In January NCS member schools honored two such coaches who have decided, after longtime service, to retire from their respective coaching duties. Kim Freitas, Washington High School, and Denny Plyler, Petaluma High School, have both served student-athletes for many years, both loved by their students and both dedicated to teach the skills of their sport, but more importantly, the lessons of life through athletic competition. CIF Member Schools Vote to Support Education and Training of Parents, Students and Coaches Concerning Sudden Cardiac Arrest
|The State CIF Federated Council voted unanimously Friday, January 30th, to support a proposal for the training and education of coaches, parents and students for the awareness, recognition, and management of sudden cardiac arrest in student-athletes. Starting July 1, 2015, anytime a CIF certified coach renews their First Aid and CPR Certification they will be required to complete a course in recognition and management of sudden cardiac arrest, the number two cause of death in young people participating in education based athletics.
