Assembly Bill 25 Added to State Education Code
Assembly Bill 25, mandate that schools must now give notice to parent(s)/guardian(s)/caregivers regarding the potentially serious effects of a concussion, is now in effect within California. State CIF member schools are mandated to provide a concussion information handout to students and families. The California Interscholastic Federation is recommending the following form, a document secured from the Center for Disease Control. The form should be distributed, signed and returned by students-athletes/parents prior to the first practice. This policy is effective immediately.
