CIF FEDERATED COUNCIL APPROVED NEW PRACTICE GUIDELINES STARTING WITH THE 2014-2015 SCHOOL YEAR
The CIF Federated Council approved new practice guidelines at their recent Federated Council meeting in Los Angeles May 2nd. The guidelines limit all athletic activities to no more than eighteen (18) hours of practice time per week and no more than four (4) fours in any single day. CIF Announces the 2014 CIF/Farmers Scholar-Athlete Award Winners
|The State CIF and Farmers have announced the 2014 CIF/Farmers Scholar-Athlete Award winners, two overall recipients and two recipients from each section. The winners from North Coast Section, CIF are Bennett Stehr, Miramonte High School and Jessie Mae Flynn, Middletown High School. A complete list of recipients can be found at www.cifstate.org. CIF ANNOUNCES 2013-2014 SPIRIT OF SPORT AWARD WINNERS - INCLUDING NORTH COAST SECTION STUDENT-ATHLETES
The CIF Spirit of Sport Award recognizes student-athletes who have demonstrated the 16 principles of Pursuing Victory with Honor, are active in school and community service and exhibit leadership qualities. Six statewide winners are selected and two from each section. Below are winners from NCS:

Ellen Estes Lee Big Hit with NCS Board of Managers
Ellen Estes Lee, former Novato High School student-athlete, graduate of Stanford University and two-time Olympic medal as a member of the USA Women's Water Polo team in 2000 and 2004 attended and spoke to the NCS Board of Managers Monday, April 28, 2014. Ellen shared the lessons she learned from participation in high school, college and Olympic competition. Ellen is a member of the USA Water Polo Hall of Fame, inducted in 2012, and a terrific role model for all of our student-athletes. NCS is very proud of her many accomplishments. Ellen lives in the Bay Area with her family (one on the way) and works at Genentech as a Group Manager of their BioOnc Infused products within Strategic Pricing and Contracting. She is also on the Board of Directors of USA Water Polo.
The North Coast Section, CIF is pleased to announce that all NCS Winter Soccer and Basketball Final Championship contests will be available LIVE on the NFHS Network. The NFHS Network is an all-digital network dedicated to coverage of boys and girls high school sports, performing arts and activities from around the country. The NFHS Network is a joint venture between the NFHS, its member associations – including the North Coast Section, CIF – and PlayOn! Sports.
Fans can watch live Online with a subscription at NFHSnetwork. The event will also be available on mobile devices at m.nfhsnetwork.com and subscribers can download the NFHS Network app from the iTunes store. Other contests may also be available live in earlier rounds depending on the participation of the involved schools in the NFHS Network School Broadcast Program.
Fans, family and alumni unable to attend the event can tune-in live from wherever they are on the NFHS Network. The NFHS Network is the most comprehensive location for coverage of boys and girls high school sports, performing arts and activities.
