DIRECTOR

SALES and MARKETING

Duties and Responsibilities – Director of Sales and Marketing

The Director of Sales and Marketing will oversee the corporate sponsorship sales function for the CIF. The Director of Sales and Marketing must maintain relationships with current sponsors, develop sales strategies to generate new partnerships and revenue, execute terms of sponsorship contracts including fulfillment. The Director also works with and coordinates efforts with the CIF “outside” sales agency, Home Team Marketing.

Qualifications:

Proven success creating, soliciting, selling, implementing and fulfilling corporate sponsorships
Track record of successfully managing multiple concurrent projects and consistently delivering them on time
Prior experience in building campaign/event infrastructure (i.e., strategy, budget, sales tools, ROI)
Innovative and assertive with the ability to assimilate new technologies and assess situations quickly
Creative problem solver and team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
Orientation to customer service for internal and external customers
Demonstrated ability to work with multiple groups, organizations and individuals to reach a common goal
Successful experience working and collaborating with an “outside marketing agency”
Demonstrated ability to oversee and manage a budget
Demonstrated successful ability to work on multiple tasks and under challenging timelines
Demonstrated successful ability to manage a statewide brand marketing campaign and the development of collateral materials.
Demonstrated ability to manage clerical tasks such as maintaining files and databases, word processing and placing orders
Demonstrated successful ability to speak clearly and concisely as a representative of an organization
Applicants must possess a sense of humor
B.A/B.S. in related field

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in related field
The ability to manage and direct adults
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Understanding of the dynamics of the nonprofit environment and high school sports

Background:

The California Interscholastic Federation is the governing body of interscholastic athletics in California. 1,518 high schools are currently members of the State CIF. The State CIF conducts championships in Golf, Volleyball, Cross Country, Football, Basketball, Wrestling, Tennis, Track and Field and Soccer. Additionally the State CIF offers and extensive education and training programs to assist member schools, coaches, administrator, students and parents.
