Who is Matt Schwab?

Matt Schwab, aka "The Scoop," is a longtime Bay Area sports writer who has spent the 2015-16 school year providing human-interest stories for the CIF NCS athletics website. It is a new feature that celebrates the section and its tremendous student-athletes, coaches and teams. Previously, Matt worked full time for a variety of newspapers -- Contra Costa Times, Mercury News, The Argus, Tri-Valley Herald, Daily Review, and Palo Alto Daily News, etc. A freelance writer and Amador Valley High graduate, he was once the Sports Editor of the Ohlone College Monitor and wrote for The Pioneer at Cal State East Bay. Currently, he provides web content for a handful of East Bay colleges. He recently helped start a nonprofit, Working Wonders, which has a mission to help adults with special needs find career opportunities and lead fulfilling lives.
